Import your Zerodha trades into a journal
Download your tradebook from Zerodha Console, drop the CSV into NeoTLog, and every fill, equity or F&O, is matched into round trips with statistics and a P&L calendar.
1. Export your trades
- Log in to Console (console.zerodha.com) and open Reports → Tradebook.
- Select the segment (Equity and F&O download separately) and a date range of at most 365 days, then click the arrow button.
- Download the tradebook as CSV (XLSX works too).
One segment per file. Equity and F&O download separately, at most 365 days at a time. Import them oldest first, so each year's sales find their purchases; rows that overlap are recognised, so nothing is counted twice.
F&O in units, under Zerodha's names. Quantities are in units (65 for one NIFTY lot), so a point is worth one rupee per unit, and options keep Zerodha's symbols (NIFTY26O2025150CE). An option or future held to expiry has no closing row in the tradebook and stays open — close it in NeoTLog at the settlement price.
No charges in the tradebook. Brokerage, STT, GST and the rest are in the contract notes and the P&L report. Set a fee rule for Zerodha to include them.
Built from the documented format. This importer follows Zerodha's export as its documentation and open-source tools describe it, and is tested against that layout — not yet against a file from a NeoTLog user. If yours does not import cleanly, send it to support@neotlog.com and we will fix the importer.
2. What the file looks like
This is the header row the importer is tested against, with one row of sample data underneath it:
symbol,isin,trade_date,exchange,segment,series,trade_type,auction,quantity,price,
trade_id,order_id,
order_execution_time
INFY,INE009A01021,2026-10-12,NSE,EQ,EQ,buy,false,12,1488.40,301877215,1100000043118802,

Wrapped here for reading — in the file each row is one line.
NeoTLog reads symbol, trade_date, exchange, segment, trade_type, quantity, price, trade_id and order_execution_time: one row per fill. A fill is told apart by its exchange, segment, date and trade ID together, since a trade ID alone repeats across days and exchanges. The XLSX download, with its title rows and names like Trade Date, imports the same way.
3. Import it
- Create a free NeoTLog account, or log in.
- Open Import and choose Zerodha.
- Check Date format: it is preset to YYYY-MM-DD. If your export writes dates another way, change it first, then drop in the file.
- Set the file timezone if the export does not carry one, then import. Duplicate rows from an overlapping date range are detected, so re-importing a wider export later is safe.
4. What you get
Fills are matched first in, first out into closed round trips, so an entry scaled in over several orders and out over two becomes one trade with one average entry, one average exit and the right quantity. From there:
- Net P&L, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, average win and loss, max drawdown
- Equity curve, P&L calendar by day and week, time-of-day and hold-time charts, and a filter for each trading session
- Commissions and fees, wherever the export carries them
- Notes, tags and strategies per trade, plus chart screenshots saved to your account on Plus and Pro
- AI performance reports, the AI assistant and the screenshot SL/TP reader on Pro
5. What doesn't import
- Charges and taxes — set a fee rule instead
- Corporate actions, IPOs, buybacks and transfers, which are in Zerodha's external tradebook
- Commodity (MCX) and currency tradebooks, for now
- The P&L and Tax P&L reports
Questions
Which time zone are the times in?
Indian Standard Time, with no zone in the file. It is preselected on import.
Why do some sales have no purchase?
The shares were bought before the file's date range, or came another way. Import the earlier year's tradebook first, and those sales find their purchases. Shares from an IPO, an OFS, a corporate action or a transfer aren't in this tradebook at all: their sale is left out and counted in the import message — unless it's bought back the same day, an intraday short, which imports as one.
Do I need a paid plan?
No. Basic is free: 100 trades per calendar year (imported or entered) on one trading account, with no card. Plus adds unlimited imports and accounts, chart screenshots, MAE/MFE and a price chart of each trade; Pro adds AI performance reports, the AI assistant and the screenshot SL/TP reader. You can try Pro free for 14 days, once per account, with no card.
I trade on another platform too.
NeoTLog reads exports from 60+ platforms, and on Plus and Pro several accounts can live in one journal. The guides are listed on the import page.
