Import your Trading 212 trades into a journal

Export your history from Trading 212, drop the CSV into NeoTLog, and every buy and sell is matched into round trips with stamp duty, FX fees, statistics and a P&L calendar.

1. Export your trades

  1. Open Trading 212 on the account you want (Invest and ISA export separately).
  2. Open History and choose Export (the download icon).
  3. Pick the time frame (at most 12 months: export each year, and import them oldest first) and keep Orders ticked under Included data.
  4. Select Export CSV.
  5. When the file is ready, select Download CSV (Trading 212 notifies you, and the file stays under Recent exports).

The columns depend on what you traded. Trading 212 only includes the columns the period needs, and has renamed some over the years (Time became Time (UTC)). NeoTLog reads them by name, so every version imports.

Export one account at a time. Invest and the Stocks ISA export separately; import each into its own account in NeoTLog. The CFD account has a different export that this importer does not read — import it with Any CSV or Excel file and match its columns once.

Splits, and shares bought before the file. A stock split — Trading 212's Stock split close and Stock split open rows — rescales your position, so its average entry is the split-adjusted one. Trading 212 can't sell short, so a sale of shares the file never bought is left out and counted, not shown as a short: import the earlier year first.

Built from the documented format. This importer follows Trading 212's export as its documentation and open-source tools describe it, and is tested against that layout — not yet against a file from a NeoTLog user. If yours does not import cleanly, send it to support@neotlog.com and we will fix the importer.

2. What the file looks like

This is the header row the importer is tested against, with one row of sample data underneath it:

Action,Time,ISIN,Ticker,Name,No. of shares,Price / share,Currency (Price / share),
Exchange rate,Result,Currency (Result),Total,Currency (Total),Notes,ID,
Currency conversion fee,
Currency (Currency conversion fee)

Market buy,2024-05-02 14:30:05,US0000000200,ACME,Acme Corp,10.0000000000,150.00,USD,
1.25,,"GBP",1201.80,"GBP",,EOF0000000001,1.80,
"GBP"

Wrapped here for reading — in the file each row is one line.

NeoTLog reads Action, Time, Ticker, No. of shares, Price / share and its currency, Exchange rate and every fee column — stamp duty, the French transaction tax, the currency conversion fee, the FINRA fee — each converted from its own currency. Prices in pence (GBX) become pounds. A ticker on two listings (AZN in London and in New York) gets its currency, AZN (GBP) and AZN (USD), so the two stay apart.

3. Import it

  1. Create a free NeoTLog account, or log in.
  2. Open Import and choose Trading 212.
  3. Set the file timezone if the export does not carry one, then import. Duplicate rows from an overlapping date range are detected, so re-importing a wider export later is safe.

4. What you get

Fills are matched first in, first out into closed round trips, so an entry scaled in over several orders and out over two becomes one trade with one average entry, one average exit and the right quantity. From there:

5. What doesn't import

Questions

Which time zone are the times in?

UTC. It is preselected on import, so trades land at the right time in your journal's own time zone.

An export covers at most a year.

Trading 212 caps each export at twelve months. Export each year and import them oldest first, so each year's sales find their purchases; rows that overlap are recognised, so nothing is counted twice.

Do I need a paid plan?

No. Basic is free: 100 trades per calendar year (imported or entered) on one trading account, with no card. Plus adds unlimited imports and accounts, chart screenshots, MAE/MFE and a price chart of each trade; Pro adds AI performance reports, the AI assistant and the screenshot SL/TP reader. You can try Pro free for 14 days, once per account, with no card.

I trade on another platform too.

NeoTLog reads exports from 60+ platforms, and on Plus and Pro several accounts can live in one journal. The guides are listed on the import page.
