Import your TopstepX trades into a journal
TopstepX runs on ProjectX. Export the closed trades, drop the file into NeoTLog, and each trade arrives with entry, exit, size, fees and P&L, plus the statistics Topstep evaluations live or die by.
1. Export your trades
TopstepX
- Log in to TopstepX and select the trading account you want to export.
- Open the Trades tab at the bottom of the platform (do not use the Orders tab).
- Click Export.
- Select the date range you want to export, then click Export again.
- Save the exported CSV file, then upload it here.
ProjectX / other
- Log in to the ProjectX-backed prop firm platform.
- Select the trading account you want to export.
- Open the Trades tab.
- Click EXPORT in the bottom-right corner.
- Select the date range you want to export, then click Export.
- Save the exported CSV file, then upload it here.
ProjectX timestamps are UTC. If your trades land in the wrong session, set the file timezone to UTC during import rather than your local zone.
An empty export usually means the date range is too tight. Start it a day earlier and end it a day later than the trades you want.
2. What the file looks like
This is the real header row, with one row of sample data underneath it:
Account,Instrument,Side,Qty,Entry Time,Exit Time,Entry Price,Exit Price,Gross P&L,Fees,
Net P&L,
Trade ID
TSX-12345,ESU6,Long,1,2026-06-17 15:31:10,2026-06-17 15:45:00,6200.00,6210.00,500.00,
4.08,495.92,
TRD10001
Wrapped here for reading — in the file each row is one line.
There are two header styles in the wild and NeoTLog reads both: the spaced one above, and a single-token one from the ProjectX API — Id, ContractName, EnteredAt, ExitedAt, EntryPrice, ExitPrice, Fees, PnL, Size, Type, TradeDay. If your file looks like neither, send it to support and we will add it.
3. Import it
- Create a free NeoTLog account, or log in.
- Open Import and choose TopstepX / ProjectX.
- Drop in the file. The date format is preset to YYYY-MM-DD; the preview shows you straight away if your export uses another one.
- Set the file timezone if the export does not carry one, then import. Duplicate rows from an overlapping date range are detected, so re-importing a wider export later is safe.
4. What you get
Fills are matched first in, first out into closed round trips, so an entry scaled in over several orders and out over two becomes one trade with one average entry, one average exit and the right quantity. From there:
- Net P&L, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, average win and loss, max drawdown
- Equity curve, P&L calendar by day and week, and time-of-day and session breakdowns
- Commissions and fees, wherever the export carries them
- MAE and MFE per trade — how far the position ran against you and for you before it closed
- Notes, tags and strategies per trade, plus screenshots saved to your account
- AI performance reports and the screenshot SL/TP reader on the paid plans
5. What doesn't import
- Order-level exports — the fill-level file with Bid/Ask sides is a different report we do not read yet
- Account statements and payout reports
- Positions or open-trade views
Questions
Is this the same as Tradovate?
No, not any more. Topstep moved its accounts to TopstepX on ProjectX. If your platform still says Tradovate, use the Tradovate guide instead.
Do evaluation and funded accounts both work?
Yes, and they export identically. Keep them as separate accounts in NeoTLog so an evaluation does not pollute your funded statistics.
Do I need a paid plan?
No. The free plan includes 100 imports per calendar year and needs no card. Paid plans add AI performance reports, the screenshot SL/TP reader and unlimited imports.
I trade on another platform too.
NeoTLog reads exports from 50+ platforms, and several accounts can live in one journal. The guides are listed on the import page.
