Import your NinjaTrader trades into a journal

Export executions from Trade Performance, drop the CSV into NeoTLog, and every fill is matched into round trips with commissions, statistics and a P&L calendar.

1. Export your trades

NinjaTrader 8

  1. In NinjaTrader, open the Control Center.
  2. Go to New > Trade Performance.
  3. In the Display dropdown, select Executions.
  4. Select the account, instrument, and date range you want to export.
  5. Click Generate.
  6. Right-click inside the results grid and select Export.
  7. Save the file as CSV.
  8. Upload the exported CSV file here.

NinjaTrader 7

  1. In NinjaTrader 7, open the Control Center.
  2. Go to the Account Performance tab.
  3. Generate performance history for the account and instruments you want to export.
  4. Open the Executions tab.
  5. Export the executions file as CSV.
  6. Upload the exported CSV file here.

Executions, not Trades. Trade Performance can show either. The Trades view is already round-tripped by NinjaTrader and carries its own Profit column; the Executions view is the raw fills. Both import, but pick one per file rather than pasting them together.

2. What the file looks like

This is the real header row, with one row of sample data underneath it:

Instrument,Action,Quantity,Price,Time,ID,E/X,Position,Order ID,Name,Commission,Rate,
Account,
Connection

ES 09-26,Buy,1,6200.00,2026-06-17 15:31:10,EX123456,Entry,Long,ORD10001,Long Entry,
2.04,1,Sim101,
NinjaTrader Continuum

Wrapped here for reading — in the file each row is one line.

NeoTLog reads Instrument, Action, Quantity, Price, Time and Commission. The Executions view is fill-level, so scaling in and out is matched first in, first out into one round trip.

3. Import it

  1. Create a free NeoTLog account, or log in.
  2. Open Import and choose NinjaTrader.
  3. Drop in the file. The date format is preset to YYYY-MM-DD; the preview shows you straight away if your export uses another one.
  4. Set the file timezone if the export does not carry one, then import. Duplicate rows from an overlapping date range are detected, so re-importing a wider export later is safe.

4. What you get

Fills are matched first in, first out into closed round trips, so an entry scaled in over several orders and out over two becomes one trade with one average entry, one average exit and the right quantity. From there:

5. What doesn't import

Questions

Does it work with a NinjaTrader prop account?

Yes. NinjaTrader is the platform, not the broker, so accounts from a futures broker or a funded programme export the same way. Select the account before you generate the report.

Simulation and live accounts in one journal?

They import the same way. Keep them as separate accounts in NeoTLog so your live stats are not diluted by sim fills.

Do I need a paid plan?

No. The free plan includes 100 imports per calendar year and needs no card. Paid plans add AI performance reports, the screenshot SL/TP reader and unlimited imports.

I trade on another platform too.

NeoTLog reads exports from 50+ platforms, and several accounts can live in one journal. The guides are listed on the import page.
