Import your MatchTrader trades into a journal
Export closed positions from MatchTrader, drop the HTML statement into NeoTLog, and each position arrives with entry, exit, volume, commission, swap and profit.
1. Export your trades
- In MatchTrader, open the Closed positions tab at the bottom of the platform.
- Select the date range you want to export.
- Click the export control above the table on the right — newer builds label it Download, older ones Export to CSV.
- In the export dialog, tick only Closed Positions and select HTML as the format.
- Upload the exported HTML file here.
Every firm ships its own MatchTrader build. The export control sits above the table on the right and is labelled Download on newer builds and Export to CSV on older ones. The tab is Closed positions in the platform, though the documentation calls it Close Positions.
Tick only Closed Positions in the export dialog. Leaving Open Positions or Finance ticked mixes non-trades into the file. The date presets also cap at about a year, so older history needs several exports.
2. What the file looks like
MatchTrader exports an HTML statement rather than a CSV, so there is no header row to show. The closed-positions table carries:
SymbolOpen TimeClose TimeVolumeSideOpen PriceClose PriceSwapCommissionProfitReason
NeoTLog reads the instrument, side, volume, open and close time, open and close price, and the broker's profit, with swap and commission folded into the trade's cost.
3. Import it
- Create a free NeoTLog account, or log in.
- Open Import and choose MatchTrader.
- Drop in the file. The date format is preset to YYYY-MM-DD; the preview shows you straight away if your export uses another one.
- Set the file timezone if the export does not carry one, then import. Duplicate rows from an overlapping date range are detected, so re-importing a wider export later is safe.
4. What you get
Fills are matched first in, first out into closed round trips, so an entry scaled in over several orders and out over two becomes one trade with one average entry, one average exit and the right quantity. From there:
- Net P&L, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, average win and loss, max drawdown
- Equity curve, P&L calendar by day and week, and time-of-day and session breakdowns
- Commissions and fees, wherever the export carries them
- MAE and MFE per trade — how far the position ran against you and for you before it closed
- Notes, tags and strategies per trade, plus screenshots saved to your account
- AI performance reports and the screenshot SL/TP reader on the paid plans
5. What doesn't import
- Open positions and Finance rows
- Balance operations — deposits, withdrawals and payouts
- Account summaries
Questions
HTML or CSV?
HTML is the safer pick. Both are offered on most builds, but the HTML statement always carries the full table, while the CSV depends on the build.
Does it work with my prop firm account?
Yes. MatchTrader is the platform; your firm only rebrands it. Evaluation and funded accounts export the same way.
Do I need a paid plan?
No. The free plan includes 100 imports per calendar year and needs no card. Paid plans add AI performance reports, the screenshot SL/TP reader and unlimited imports.
I trade on another platform too.
NeoTLog reads exports from 50+ platforms, and several accounts can live in one journal. The guides are listed on the import page.
