Import your eToro trades into a journal

Download your account statement from eToro, drop the Excel file into NeoTLog, and every closed position arrives with entry, exit, units, fees and eToro's own profit.

1. Export your trades

  1. In eToro, open Settings → Account and, under Documents, click View next to Account Statement.
  2. Choose the dates and click Create.
  3. Click the XLS icon to download the statement (NeoTLog reads its Closed Positions sheet).

Rounded rates are worked out exactly. Recent statements round the open and close rate to cents, which turns a coin at 0.2534 into 0.25. Where the amount, units and profit pin the price down more finely, NeoTLog uses that instead.

Commissions on their own rows are not read. eToro books some commissions on the Account Activity sheet rather than on the position, so they are not in the trade's costs. Add them to the trade, or set a default cost in Settings → Commissions & fees.

Older statements have no tickers. Before about 2023 the Action column reads Buy Apple, so the instrument's name is the symbol for those trades.

Built from the documented format. This importer follows eToro's export as its documentation and open-source tools describe it, and is tested against that layout — not yet against a file from a NeoTLog user. If yours does not import cleanly, send it to support@neotlog.com and we will fix the importer.

2. What the file looks like

eToro's account statement is an Excel workbook. Its Closed Positions sheet, the one NeoTLog reads, has these columns:

Each row is one closed position. NeoTLog takes the ticker from the brackets in Action (Apple Inc (AAPL)), the direction from Long / Short, and the profit from Profit(USD) as eToro worked it out. The spread and overnight fees are the trade's costs, and a dividend paid on the position lowers them. Copied From names other eToro users and is never read.

3. Import it

  1. Create a free NeoTLog account, or log in.
  2. Open Import and choose eToro.
  3. Check Date format: it is preset to DD/MM/YYYY. If your export writes dates another way, change it first, then drop in the file.
  4. Set the file timezone if the export does not carry one, then import. Duplicate rows from an overlapping date range are detected, so re-importing a wider export later is safe.

4. What you get

Each row of the export is already one complete trade, so it arrives as one trade with its entry, exit, quantity and the broker's own profit. From there:

5. What doesn't import
