Import your Coinbase trades into a journal
Generate a statement from Coinbase, drop the CSV into NeoTLog, and your buys and sells are matched into round trips with fees and statistics.
1. Export your trades
- In Coinbase, open the Statements page.
- Generate a custom statement.
- Select the asset, transaction type, and date range you want to export.
- Choose CSV as the file format.
- Download the generated CSV file.
- Upload the exported file here.
Convert rows are counted, not imported. A Convert is really two trades — a sell and a buy — but Coinbase writes only one side of it, so importing it would invent the other. The import note tells you how many Convert rows were skipped rather than letting them vanish quietly.
Sends, receives, rewards and Earn are skipped by design. They are genuinely not trades, so they are not counted as problems either.
2. What the file looks like
This is the real header row, with one row of sample data underneath it:
Timestamp,Transaction Type,Asset,Quantity Transacted,Spot Price Currency,
Spot Price at Transaction,Subtotal,Total (inclusive of fees and/or spread),
Fees and/or Spread,
Notes
2026-06-17T15:31:10Z,Buy,BTC,0.01000000,USD,67000.00,670.00,672.99,2.99,
Bought 0.01000000 BTC
Wrapped here for reading — in the file each row is one line.
NeoTLog reads Transaction Type, Asset, Quantity Transacted, Spot Price at Transaction, the timestamp and the fee column. Buys and sells become trades; everything else in the statement is left alone.
3. Import it
- Create a free NeoTLog account, or log in.
- Open Import and choose Coinbase.
- Drop in the file. The date format is preset to the platform's usual one; the preview shows you straight away if your export uses another one.
- Set the file timezone if the export does not carry one, then import. Duplicate rows from an overlapping date range are detected, so re-importing a wider export later is safe.
4. What you get
Fills are matched first in, first out into closed round trips, so an entry scaled in over several orders and out over two becomes one trade with one average entry, one average exit and the right quantity. From there:
- Net P&L, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, average win and loss, max drawdown
- Equity curve, P&L calendar by day and week, and time-of-day and session breakdowns
- Commissions and fees, wherever the export carries them
- MAE and MFE per trade — how far the position ran against you and for you before it closed
- Notes, tags and strategies per trade, plus screenshots saved to your account
- AI performance reports and the screenshot SL/TP reader on the paid plans
5. What doesn't import
- Tax summaries and gain/loss reports
- Coinbase Card statements
- Deposits and withdrawals
- Coinbase Exchange fills — that is a separate importer
Questions
I use Coinbase Advanced Trade.
Its fills export is the Coinbase Exchange importer rather than this one. This page covers the retail statement.
My Convert trades are missing.
That is deliberate, and the import tells you how many were skipped. Send us a Convert export and we will build the split properly.
Do I need a paid plan?
No. The free plan includes 100 imports per calendar year and needs no card. Paid plans add AI performance reports, the screenshot SL/TP reader and unlimited imports.
I trade on another platform too.
NeoTLog reads exports from 50+ platforms, and several accounts can live in one journal. The guides are listed on the import page.
